Equinor and Polenergia at the celebration of the Łeba Festival - with positive energy about the Bałtyk projects

During this year’s Łeba Festival – a celebration of the 668th anniversary of granting city rights to Łeba – Equinor and Polenergia once again joined the festivities with a strong presence. Residents and tourists from across Poland visited our vibrant stand, where we shared insights into offshore wind energy and the Bałtyk 2 and 3 projects in a fun, engaging way.

This year's festival, traditionally combined with the Łeba Festival of Fish and Regional Products, took place on July 12–13, 2025. Despite rainy weather, the Equinor and Polenergia stand remained a lively and popular spot throughout the weekend. With the energy and enthusiasm of our teams and visitors alike, the event turned into a space for inspiring conversations, hands-on creativity, and a deeper understanding of how offshore wind can support the region’s sustainable future.

– It’s always a pleasure to be part of the Łeba Festival – a celebration that holds special meaning both for the local community and for us. Our presence here reflects our ongoing engagement in the region and supports our long-term investments in Pomerania. A modern service base for the Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms is currently under construction in the Port of Łeba, and our Information Centre in the heart of the city is open to visitors year-round – said Andrzej Popadiuk, Stakeholder Manager, Equinor Polska.

Along Kościuszki Street, the festival space came alive with music, performances, and family fun. Thousands of visitors stopped by our stand to take part in a wide range of attractions: from creative bag-painting workshops and building model ships from eco-friendly materials, to a unique challenge for fitness fans – making fresh juice on a pedal-powered cocktail bike! Guests of all ages also took part in quizzes about renewable energy, with fun prizes for the winners.

Every year, more and more people visit our stand in Łeba. This growing interest in offshore wind energy reflects the direction in which both Łeba and the Polish energy sector are heading. That’s why these meetings with residents and tourists are so valuable – they give us the opportunity to share knowledge and demonstrate how investments in green energy bring real, tangible benefits and positive change – says Marta Porzuczek, Director of the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Department at Polenergia Group.

Equinor and Polenergia are jointly developing three offshore wind farm projects in the Baltic Sea, with a total planned capacity of up to 3 GW. Located off the coast of Łeba and Ustka, the wind farms will be capable of supplying clean, renewable electricity to over 4 million households. To support operations, a modern service base is under construction in the Port of Łeba, set to open in 2026. Once operational, it will create dozens of new jobs for qualified local specialists, strengthening both the local economy and the renewable energy sector in Poland.
