Equinor and Polenergia invite residents of Łeba and the surrounding areas to a meeting on offshore wind farms

How will the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms affect the immediate neighborhood, and what is the current schedule of works related to the construction of the service base in Łeba? Residents of the Lębork and Słupsk districts will learn the answers to these questions during an information meeting organized by Equinor and Polenergia, which jointly develop Bałtyk offshore wind farms. The event will take place on December 4 at the Bałtyk Offshore Wind Farm Information Center, 88 Kościuszki Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Equinor and Polenergia maintain open communication with the citizens of the regions where offshore wind farm projects are implemented. That is why direct meetings with the local community are organized every quarter. The purpose of the dialogue is to provide up-to-date information on Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3, to address any doubts or questions, and to build mutual understanding and trust regarding the investments.

During the meeting, residents of Łeba and the region will learn about the schedule of works related to the construction of the service base and the current progress of work on the offshore wind farms. The event will provide an opportunity to express opinions and comments on the projects.

The Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects, implemented jointly by Equinor and Polenergia in the Baltic Sea, will be located at the distance from 22 to 37 km from the coastline. A O&M base will be constructed in Łeba, and will be responsible for the safe operation of the farms throughout the entire service life. It will include, among others, a remote dispatch centre, a spare parts warehouse, a quay for mooring specialized ships, as well as modern, environmentally friendly office space. The investment will contribute to the development of the city and the region, and will provide new, attractive jobs.

The Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects, with a combined generation capacity of up to 1440 MW, will provide clean, renewable energy to more than 2 million households. The first energy will flow to the grid as early as 2027, and the commercial stage of their use is scheduled for 2028.
