Second call for applications under the transitional compensation system for fishermen

In March, Equinor and Polenergia will invite fishermen to information meetings, during which company representatives will outline the principles of the compensation system for fishermen operating in the area of the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms. As in the first call for applications, during the meetings it will be possible to receive assistance with completing the required documentation and submit applications on the spot.

Since the beginning of the year, applications have been open for the second round of compensation for 2026. At the same time, documents submitted in the first round for 2025 are also being processed. Since September last year, over 150 applications have been received. Some vessel shipowners have already signed agreements, which form the basis for receiving financial resources. Further documents are being prepared and will be systematically forwarded to fishermen eligible for compensation. Applications for 2025 can only be submitted until the end of June this year. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.

The rules for granting compensation in the 2026 call for applications remain unchanged, i.e. compensation may be claimed by owners of commercial fishing vessels who carried out fishing activities in 2018-2024 in fishing squares L5, L6, L7, L8, M7, M8, N7, N8, or are owners of fishing vessels registered in one of the ports of exposure: Jarosławiec, Ustka, Rowy or Łeba. In addition, vessel owners must have a special fishing permit for 2026.

Information about the dates and locations of the meetings will be provided to interested parties well in advance and will also be available on the baltyk123.pl website.
