Topping-out ceremony marks a symbolic milestone for Equinor’s Operations and Maintenance Base in Łeba
Equinor and Polenergia have reached an important milestone in the construction of their Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Base for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms. The topping-out ceremony marked the completion of the structural phase of the project. Soon, the base will become the heart of operations for the Bałtyk offshore wind farms and a key hub for the development of offshore wind energy in Poland.
The service centre is being built on the revitalized site of the former shipyard in the port of Łeba. It will provide operation and maintenance services for the wind farms, creating new jobs and supporting local businesses. The facility will include state-of-the-art offices, a remote control and monitoring centre, spare parts warehouses, and a dedicated quay for service vessels. The project has been designed with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind, using local materials and solutions that minimize its environmental impact.

Construction has now entered the stage of installing internal systems and finishing works. The next phase will include furnishing the buildings and installing IT equipment. The O&M Base is scheduled to be operational by mid-2026.
The topping-out ceremony was attended by representatives of local authorities, contractors, partners of the Bałtyk projects, and local stakeholders. The event highlighted the importance of safety and collaboration – values that are at the core of Equinor’s culture.
The Łeba base will support the operation of the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 wind farms, with first power expected to be delivered to the national grid in 2027.
