Summer picnics with attractions provided by Equinor and Polenergia
Summer holidays by the Baltic Sea are an opportunity not only to relax but also to learn more about offshore wind energy. Equinor and Polenergia will once again take part in events across the region, offering attractions for children, teenagers and adults. During the events in Łeba and Swołowo, visitors to the Bałtyk offshore wind farms stand will have the opportunity to, among others, build a miniature boat, take part in workshops and competitions, and learn more about the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms that are currently under development.
The companies have combined education with entertainment. At the Bałtyk projects stand, event participants will be able to spend their time actively, express their creativity and take part in competitions with prizes. Visitors will be able to enjoy attractions such as a fortune wheel, decorating bags and miniature boat-building workshops. Participants will also receive small gifts and have the opportunity to take their own creations home as a unique souvenir from the seaside. At the same time, they will have an opportunity to learn more about how offshore wind farms are developed and how the electricity they generate will eventually reach our homes.
The first opportunity to meet will be the 4th Łeba Fish and Regional Products Festival, taking place in Łeba from 10th to 12th July. The event celebrates local traditions, cuisine and regional products, and has become a permanent fixture in the calendar of summer events in Pomerania. The festival is an integral part of Łeba’s Town Celebration, during which participants will mark the 669th anniversary of the town being granted municipal rights.
Further activities for residents and tourists are planned during the 11th International Kite Festival in Łeba, taking place from 28th to 30th August. The event will offer an opportunity to experience how the wind brings the sky to life by lifting colorful kites and delivering excitement to festival participants The same wind will set the turbines of offshore wind farms in motion and help deliver electricity to our homes and businesses.
The summer series of events will conclude with the County and Municipal Harvest Festival in Swołowo, taking place on 5th September at the Museum of Folk Culture of Pomerania. This important event for the local community will bring together regional flavours, music and traditions, creating an atmosphere of shared celebration in a picturesque, rural setting.
Equinor and Polenergia are also supporting the organisation of community picnics in Duninowo and Lędowo, creating further opportunities for residents to come together and connect.
The companies’ presence at these events will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farm projects, which are currently at an advanced stage of development, both offshore and onshore. At the stands, visitors will be able to discuss the investments, their importance for the region and the role they play in Poland’s energy transition.
