Once again, Equinor and Polenergia will celebrate the Days of Łeba with residents and tourists. For three days (19-21 July), visitors will be able to enjoy a lot of attractions and information at the stand of investors of offshore wind farms Bałtyk. The participation of the Companies in the annual city festival is already a tradition and an expression of their consistent involvement in the life of the local community.
As part of the three-day Łeba Festival, which is celebrated on the occasion of the 667th anniversary of granting city rights, there will also be the Łeba Festival of Fish and Regional Products, where you will be able to find everything related to the sea and the region. There will also be a stand of Equinor and Polenergia, which jointly implement offshore wind farm projects in Łeba, and in the city itself - a service base for their service. On the site of the former shipyard, a modern, environmentally friendly office space, a wind farm control and servicing center, a spare parts warehouse, and docks for mooring vessels will be built. About 100 specialists will find long-term employment in the service base, responsible for the technical maintenance of infrastructure and equipment at sea and supporting their operation from land. In addition to new jobs, the investment will create an opportunity for the development of the region and local companies.
This year, the companies' stand will be located at Fisherman's Square and will include attractions that will bring the subject of offshore wind energy and more closer. You will be able to obtain information about this dynamically developing industry and the Baltic projects implemented by Equinor and Polenergia. The Companies' specialists will talk about, among others, the benefits of the development of offshore wind energy in Poland, interesting facts related to investments, and career prospects in the offshore wind industry. There will also be competitions with prizes, a wheel of fortune, and for the youngest - coloring books, wind puzzles, and workshops on building wind turbine models.
On Saturday, in front of the Equinor and Polenergia stand, paramedics will train all those willing to provide first aid. Using phantoms and a defibrillator, they will demonstrate how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults, children, and infants, and how to act in the event of choking, hemorrhage or other emergencies. First aid training will be free of charge.
On Sunday, visitors to the stand will be able to prepare a fruit cocktail using the power of their muscles: electricity generated on an energy bike will be used for this purpose. On Saturday, as every year, representatives of Equinor and Polenergia will also be able to be found in the procession of the Duchy of Łeba, which will march through the streets of the city.
Investors are permanently present in Łeba. They organize cyclical, open meetings with residents, during which they present the current course of work on offshore wind farm projects and the service base for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects being built in Łeba. Last year, companies opened the Baltic Offshore Wind Farm Information Centre in Łeba. It is the first year-round information and education point in Poland, where you can learn about offshore wind energy in a pleasant and easy way. In the facility located in the center of Łeba, you can also learn everything about investors' projects, the benefits for the region, jobs, educational paths, etc.
In addition, for the second season, Equinor has been supporting the Łebski Klub Sailing as part of the Heroes of Tomorrow program, which allows young people to develop their passions and talents.
Equinor and Polenergia are jointly developing three offshore wind farm projects. Bałtyk 1, Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 with a total capacity of up to 3 GW, which will power more than 4 million households with renewable energy. The farms will be located at the height of Łeba, at a distance of 22 to over 80 km from the coastline.
