Registration for the Supplier Day for Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms has started
Equinor and Polenergia, as well as the main suppliers of inter-array and export cables for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farm projects, are looking for partners to join their supply chain. On September 18th they are organizing a meeting in Gdańsk to help domestic companies enter the offshore wind market and win contracts. Registration for the event is now open.
The Supplier Day is an event that brings together large global companies with Polish partners for a specific offshore wind farm component. This time, the meeting will focus on the infrastructure for transmitting power from offshore wind farms. Its main contractors (Tier 1) will be Seaway7, Jan De Nul and Hellenic Cables, which will be EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) of inter-array and export cables for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms, jointly built by Equinor and Polenergia, with a total capacity of 1,44 GW.
The event will take place on September 18th at 10.00 a.m. at the Gdańsk Entrepreneurship Incubator STARTER at 3b Lęborska Street. It is necessary to register in advance using the form, which can be found via the link: Registration form
Seaway7, the inter-array cable EPCI contractor, offers specialized services for the installation of offshore infrastructure, and also provides heavy transport services for the renewable energy sector. In turn, a consortium formed by Belgian company Jan De Nul, specializing in offshore infrastructure construction and maintenance services, and Greek cable manufacturer Hellenic Cables, will be responsible for the supply and installation of export cables.
When carrying out these tasks, investors aim for the highest possible participation of Polish partners – component and service providers – in the construction of wind farms in the Baltic Sea. The Supplier Day is intended to facilitate their entry into the offshore market and integration into the global supply chain. Representatives of the main suppliers, including Seaway7, Jan De Nul, and Hellenic Cables, as well as investors such as Polenergia and Equinor, will be present at the meeting.
During the event, topics such as the investment schedule, innovations and competencies, as well as standards and requirements for suppliers will be discussed. The companies will learn which entities are being sought, how to apply, and what conditions must be met to be included in the pool of potential suppliers and participate in the development of offshore wind energy in Poland. In individual thematic sessions, they will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from Seaway7, Jan De Nul, and Hellenic Cables about specific procurement packages.
The meeting is intended for companies whose products and services fall within the following categories:
- Installation materials package
Fibre optics accessories, cable installation and earthing accessories for offshore substation, concrete mattresses and an installation frame, cable protection systems(CPS), rock material for CPS and cable protection, J-tube collars, onshore cable pull-in spread (winch, sheeth piling, craneage, load monitoring), offshore pull-in spread (winch/capstan, containers, scaffolding, load monitoring, (hydraulic) power units)
- Support and maintenance services
onshore-offshore riggers, spare cable offloading spread (tensioners, rollers, craneage, SPMTs depending on the setup, waste and cable scrap handling, spare cable storage medium fabrication, survey CTV, agency, storage and transport services, divers and dive support vessel, guard vessels, termination and testing services (under Hellenic Cables supervision)
- Maritime internal cables
port logistics / marshalling yard for barges with IAC cables, tugs, fabrication of quadrants for OSS, crew transfer vessels, crew changes services
The Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms, with a total capacity of 1440 MW, will be located in the Polish exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea, at a distance of 22 to 37 km from the coastline. The Bałtyk offshore wind farms will be connected to the PSE Słupsk-Wierzbięcino substation. An onshore connection infrastructure corridor of about 14 km will run through the municipalities of Ustka and Słupsk. The first energy from the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects is expected to flow into the grid as early as 2027. The commercial phase of their operation is planned for 2028.
The Bałtyk 1 project, the largest of the three Bałtyk offshore wind farms with a capacity of up to 1560 MW, is being prepared for an auction in 2025. Together, all three projects by Equinor and Polenergia will supply green energy to over 4 million households.
We invite you to register today. Registration will last until September 11th.
