Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 with significant progress in the second quarter of 2026

The second quarter of this year brought further progress in the construction of the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms - from the production of key infrastructure elements, through the commencement of foundation works at sea, to the development of onshore projects.

In April 2026, the construction of the topside of the offshore substation was completed at the Smulders plant, which was then prepared for transport and installation work. The height of this structure can be compared to a 15-storey building, and its area to a school playground or a small sports hall. This is the very component of the offshore wind farm infrastructure that, once the farm is operational, will receive the energy supplied by inter-array cables, step up the voltage, and transmit the power onward towards the land.

In May, the foundation works of the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects began. The official start was marked by the safe foundation of the first several sets of monopiles and transition pieces by one of the world’s largest installation vessels - Thialf.

At the turn of June and July, the halfway point of the installation of 100 turbine foundations was reached, and in parallel with the sea works, work on the construction of the operational and maintenance base in Łeba, which already supports maritime operations, and in the near future will become the operational center for the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects, was also progressing.

In the near future, the installation of support structures of the jacket type, i.e., the foundations of marine transformer stations, will begin.
